What is Botox and how does it work?
Botox is an FDA-approved neurotoxin that temporarily relaxes the small facial muscles responsible for dynamic wrinkles — the lines that form when you smile, frown, or raise your eyebrows. By softening that muscle activity, Botox smooths existing lines and helps prevent new ones from setting in.
The most common areas we treat are forehead lines, the “11s” between the brows, crow’s feet around the eyes, bunny lines on the nose, lip flips, chin dimpling, and jaw slimming (masseter Botox). It can also be used to soften neck bands and treat excessive sweating.
Plan on about 20–30 minutes from check-in to walking out. The injections themselves take only a few minutes.
Yes. Botox treatments are quick and well tolerated. We incorporate comfort measures, including a squeeze ball to help keep you comfortable throughout your treatment.
You’ll start to see softening in 3–5 days, with full results around the two-week mark.
Typically 3–4 months. Longevity varies based on metabolism, dosage, treatment area, and how active those muscles are.
Full results are assessed at two weeks. We recommend scheduling your follow-up before you leave so your provider can evaluate your results and make any minor adjustments if needed.
You may see small bumps where the product was injected — these are completely normal and resolve within about 30 minutes. Some patients experience mild redness or pinpoint bruising.

For the best results:

  • Apply ice for comfort, gently.
  • Avoid bending, lying flat, or vigorous facial movements for 4 hours.
  • Don’t touch, rub, or massage the treated area.
  • Skip exercise and alcohol for 24–48 hours.
  • Avoid makeup over the area for 24 hours.
  • Avoid NSAIDs (like ibuprofen) for 48 hours.
  • Your provider will review all post-care instructions with you during your visit

No. Every treatment is thoughtfully tailored to you, with personalized dosing designed to soften lines while preserving natural movement and expression.
There’s no single “right” age to start Botox. Treatment is based on your individual concerns, facial movement, and aesthetic goals rather than age alone. For some, preventative treatment may be appropriate before deeper lines become established.
